My name is Ulrika Ferlin born in Mariefred, Sweden. As young I started working in restaurants and there is where my passion for food and wine started. I have worked in the restaurant business my entire life with a short break working for the military. I took my sommelier degree at the Restaurant accademy in 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden. There I also took my Wine and Spirit Educational Trust degree. I’m now attending the Wine and Spirit Educational Trust Diploma. I will take my degree i 2017.
During my studies I discovered my interest for sommelier competitions. In 2013 I took the Freestyle Sommelier award in Sweden and Lily Bollinger award – Best female sommelier of the year in Sweden. I also took a second place in the Swedish championship in blind tasting in 2014.
My big interest for wine brought my to one of the most important wine regions in italy. I currently work and live in Barolo in Piedmont. I work as a Hospitality manager and Sommelier for one of the greater wineries here.
I would now like to share my knowledge and help others discovery this beautiful wine country, Italy.
All the best, Ulrika Ferlin
